Off to a BIG start!!

Our summer definitely got off to a big start!! A tree from the yard behind ours fell in our yard. We were in the first day of Bible School assembly when Frank walks in...I knew something had to be wrong. Luckily nobody was hurt. It fell around 8:30 am...The time my children usually head outside to start playing. So glad it fell on a day we were not out there!! The swingset had to be torn down, part of the gutter was damaged, and some of the landscaping was messed up. Not to mention the neighborhood power was out for most of the day. We had live wires for a couple of days back there. What a mess!

Litchfield in August

A few more beach pictures...
Bess with her conch shell that she and Big Daddy found! That was one of the highlights of her summer!! She was so excited about her shell.

Frank loves smiling for the camera.

Frank also likes to do exactly what Big Daddy does!

We are about to eat some delicious seafood!!

Litchfield in June

Here are some pics from our trip to Litchfield in June. Bess and Frank had the best time playing on the beach! Hugh liked it some days...If there was a sandy snack involved, he was happy!

Hugh loves to be one the telephone! He must be like his mama.

We are still here!

I have not been good at keeping up with writing about our adventures this summer. We have been busy, but there has not been much down time to upload pics and write about it all. I will try to post some summer pictures this week!

Disney World - Day 1

Frank and I took Bess and Little Frank to Disney World the first week school was out. It was an amazing trip!! Here are some pictures from Day 1 - Magic Kingdom. We are all ready to go and have some fun!!

The children loved riding the monorail to Magic Kingdom. That was one of their favorite parts of the whole trip!

On our way inside...The children were ready!!

Frank loved meeting Pinocchio (sp?)!! Bess still is not so sure about characters so she kept her distance.

The Franks had a great time riding Dumbo.

Bess was in heaven today! She met and had her picture made with most of the princesses. Luckily she does not consider princesses to be characters!!

Bess and Frank could not believe the fireworks!

They loved seeing Cinderella's castle all lit up at night.

One of my favorite pictures of the whole trip!! They really are best friends...most of the time!

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom!!

We are excited! Everyone loves Disney and is having a great time. Here are some pics from Day 2.

The pictures below were taken on Tom Sawyer's island. We spent a good part of the morning here. We all loved exploring!

Time for a carousel ride. You cannot see Little Frank, but Bess is in the center of the picture. It was hard getting a good one on that ride.

Not exactly sure who these ladies are, but they weren't characters so Bess wanted her picture made with them!! Now, back to the hotel to rest for a little while.

Day 2 - Late afternoon.

I think we are waiting for the Peter Pan ride in this picture. Bess and Frank loved this ride! Bess loves Tinkerbell!

Bess and Frank in front of the cemetary at the Haunted Mansion. We can't believe Bess wanted to go on this ride, but she asked to go again the next day. What a brave girl!

The Franks on the Jungle Cruise. We rode this several times.

This picture was made right after we rode Pirates of the Caribbean. Frank had to have a sword! He was so excited about it.

We took a break and enjoyed the Country Bears show. Big Frank liked this when he was a little boy and Bess and Frank thought it was great, too!

A day at Disney is not complete without a trip to the candy store!

We all enjoyed spending some time at Frontierland!

Now we have a sword, gun, and princess figurines. We need to call it a day!

They were having so much fun, though...

Time for some racing!! Bess and Frank were great drivers. We did this several times.

The Franks went on a small roller coaster near Mickey's house. Little Frank was not so sure about it. This was his second one of the day. I took him on Thunder Mtn Railroad earlier in the day.

The princess castle was so beautiful at night. The children just wanted to sit and stare at it...which we did b/c everyone was trying to leave Disney at the exact same time so we just sat and waited!

Time for some more candy.

Bess could not wait to get back to the room to play with her Jasmine figurines.

Good night! We had a great day at Disney! We loved MK so much we are going to go back tomorrow!!
