Work on the House - Week 1

We started work on the house last Thursday. These pictures show what has been done so far. Baby Frank is in Greenville for a few days and is missing out on all the fun of seeing the excavators and big and loud machines. When we have a newborn to add to the mix, things will really be FUN around here! This picture is of the back of the house...The window on the left (our existing bedroom) will be Bess's bedroom and our new bedroom will be where part of the "dug out" part is. The bigger window on the right is the existing den and will stay the same, except there will be a porch right behind it, so they will take away the windows and add doors.

This picture shows the doors from the den to what was once a patio before today, the back of the kitchen, and the back door to the kitchen and laundry room. The kitchen wall will be knocked out and it will be extended to the den. The small hall where the back door is will be part of the kitchen cabinets/pantry.

This is the side of the house, where the laundry room is now. There will be a new door right here where the house stops and then it will go back a little bit farther, to where the dug out part is. The existing laundry room will be a powder room and the other part will be an area for some cabinets/cubbies and a laundry room.

Clemson Game Fun!

We went to the Clemson game on Saturday. Bess was so excited about it! She could not wait to get to Greenville Friday night! Saturday she was up at the crack of dawn wanting to put her cheerleading uniform on. She sat with Big Daddy and YaYa for almost half of the game and did great! Baby Frank and I went in and sat with Frank, Ginger, and Cameron for about 15 minutes. Frank was having fun, but was very restless so the two of us went back to the car and tailgated for the rest of the game. Thank goodness we park in the shade! We had a fun-filled day and both kids went to sleep as soon as we got in the car to go home. Here are some pictures from our day at the game.

Frank's first haircut

Frank had his first haircut this morning at Stacy's Barber Shop. This smock stayed on Frank for about 5 seconds... The lollipop helped him sit still in the chair!

I had a hard time getting a good picture of the "after." Stacy did a great job...The curls are still there, but it is a little shorter on top and she took just a little bit off the curls. At least the hair is now out of his eyes. I'll try and get some better pictures tonight.

Labor Day Fun

Here are some pictures from Labor Day yesterday. We went to the McQueen's for dinner and all the children had a ball playing. Frank got so dirty, but he had so much fun!

This is why we call Frank "Swiper..." as in Swiper from Dora the Explorer. If you don't watch out, if there's food around, he'll swipe it!

Frank's First Day in the 1's Class

This morning was a little hectic...A friend and I hosted the New Parent Coffee at the preschool yesterday and today, which meant I had to be there early...with the children ready for school and my food, etc. for the coffee. Yesterday was easier because I only had one child to get ready. Today was a little different. I was CRAZY this morning trying to get myself ready, heat the frittatas in the oven, feed the children breakfast, get them dressed, etc. I thought I was on the ball last night...The clothes for today were ironed, the plates, napkins, trays, etc. for the coffee were packed, Frank's bag was all ready, even the socks and shoes were ready for the children. Then came morning (I even got up extra early!) and somehow things were still busy, busy, busy. We were so rushed that I did not get a picture of Frank before school started. These pictures were taken after school today. Frank did great on his first day in the 1's class! His teachers, Mrs. Kit and Mrs. Shannon are so sweet. We are looking forward to a great year! Cheese!
After school, I picked up Bess first so she could come with me to get Frank. She was having so much fun with the 1's, she wanted to stay and play!
Mrs. Shannon, Frank, and Mrs. Kit.
Frank made a precious little friend...However, she doesn't seem to be thrilled about being pushed in the wagon!

Baby Update...

Here's a quick update on the baby...

I am now 26 weeks and doing great. The problems I had at my 20 week check-up seem to have improved. I have been checked twice since then and each time, it's gotten better! The c-section will be sometime the week before Thanksgiving.

It's hard to believe, but I have not even started on the new baby's bedding...This is not like me at all...I guess since Frank will still be in the crib when the new baby is born (and he will be in a bassinet in our room for awhile), I am not in too big a rush. I was thinking a circus/carousel theme, but who knows what we'll end up with. Bess's room now is going to be the new baby's room and her ceiling, walls, and floor are painted girl colors, so we will have some big time work to do to make it boyish. That is going to be a task for Frank!

I go back to the doctor next week and after that I'll be going every 2 weeks...New baby will be here before we know it!

Bess's First Day of the 4's!

Bess was a little nervous, but mostly excited, this morning about her new 4's class. We didn't have Baby Frank with us this morning (he was in Greenwood for a few days), so it was easier for me to be on time! His first day in the 1's class is tomorrow. Bess came right in to her classroom, found her name, and was ready to have some fun.
Bess and (Big!) Mama
Bess and her good friend, Eme, take some time to pose for some pictures.

Holden Beach

We went to Holden Beach last week with Frank's family. One night we went and let the children ride the train and the carousel. I wish I had gotten more pictures from the fun night. Baby Frank loved the carousel and cried when it was time to get off. We went to The Scoop after eating seafood one night. Gigi and her grandchildren enjoyed hula-hooping!

Frank LOVED the big bear outside The Scoop.
Cameron, William, and Bess enjoyed some ice cream after a yummy seafood dinner. They had a great time playing together at the beach!

Happy Birthday, Bess!

Happy Birthday, Bess!

Bess turned 4 on Monday, August 25. We went to Greenwood to celebrate her big day with some family. She had a great day!

Her birthday party with her friends is Sept. 6 at Hair Doodles. The girls will get their hair, nails, and make-up done. She is very excited about this. I'll post pictures after the big day!
