Almost 32 weeks...

Everything looked good at the doctor last week. She said Disney World sounded great so we are on! We'll leave October 28 and drive to St. Simons and then go to Disney the next morning. I need to try and book our breakfast with the princesses tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't be too late! We'll spend Halloween in Disney while Frank spends the week with YaYa and Big Daddy at Litchfield. We'll miss "G," but it will be nice to have a laid back trip before the baby arrives a few weeks later. I say "laid back," but Bess is VERY scared of characters so who knows what this trip will bring...We'll have fun!

I go back to the doctor this Wednesday and Thursday to get a shot both days...No fun! My c-section is either going to be the week before Thanksgiving or early in the week of Thanksgiving.

Updates

Baby Update - I go back to the doctor this Thursday...31 weeks. Time has really flown by! I'm going to talk with the doctor about my chances of going to Disney World with Bess and (Big) Frank. Our September trip was cancelled due to the possible impact of Hurricane Ike, and it was rescheduled for October 29-November 1. I'll be about 35 weeks, so hopefully she'll say I am good to go with them! I have not been feeling super lately...Bad heartburn, esp. when I get a little nervous (like when I have both kids by myself at a birthday party) and my lower back has been hurting. But, I've been trying to take it easy at night and go to bed a little earlier so I bet that will help me feel better. 7 more weeks until the big day...It will be here before we know it. The house will not be ready when the baby arrives, so he will sleep in our room for awhile. Things will be nuts around here during the holidays!

Bess - Bess is in school everyday from 9-12 and seems to be enjoying it! She takes an arts and crafts class once a week after school and LOVES that. She also wanted to try tap this year instead of ballet. I think it had something to do with the tap shoes. She seems to love it! Bess also has choir practice once a week at church. She is very excited about fall! We have already been to the pumpkin patch down the street twice...and it just opened on Saturday. Bess is also interested in our backyard "garden." This is hilarious that she continues to call it a "garden" because our backyard looks pretty bad. She also loves to read and go to the library. Lilly's Big Day is a favorite of hers. This is about a little girl who wants/tries to be a flower girl in her teacher's wedding. Well, Bess is going to be a flower girl in my cousin's wedding in March so I think this is why she loves this book so much! She also loves the book, Fancy Nancy, and of course she still loves reading princess stories and Bible stories.

Frank - Frank goes to school MWF from 9-12...So far, so good! He cries a little when I drop him off, but he is always happy when I pick him up. He loves painting and music at school, or so his teachers say. They send the neatest progress reports home each day so we can see what was for snack, what the kids did that day, their mood, etc. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we have time to hang out, just the two of us. We went to the Zoo last Thursday and today we went to Leapin' Lizards. At first, we were the only ones there and it was perfect, but then lots of little ones started coming in, and Frank started becoming very interested in some of the other kids' toys, etc. He was a little too interested in a little boy's band-aid on his head, and the first time I grabbed him before he could touch it. Then a little while later, I was too slow. He took the band-aid off this child's head and the mother was not happy! At that point, I decided that we needed to leave... before my heartburn got any worse. We had a fun morning and look forward to our next adventure together...maybe the fire station!

Frank had so much fun playing on the rocking horse at YaYa and Big Daddy's house last week.

Work on the House - Week 1

We started work on the house last Thursday. These pictures show what has been done so far. Baby Frank is in Greenville for a few days and is missing out on all the fun of seeing the excavators and big and loud machines. When we have a newborn to add to the mix, things will really be FUN around here! This picture is of the back of the house...The window on the left (our existing bedroom) will be Bess's bedroom and our new bedroom will be where part of the "dug out" part is. The bigger window on the right is the existing den and will stay the same, except there will be a porch right behind it, so they will take away the windows and add doors.

This picture shows the doors from the den to what was once a patio before today, the back of the kitchen, and the back door to the kitchen and laundry room. The kitchen wall will be knocked out and it will be extended to the den. The small hall where the back door is will be part of the kitchen cabinets/pantry.

This is the side of the house, where the laundry room is now. There will be a new door right here where the house stops and then it will go back a little bit farther, to where the dug out part is. The existing laundry room will be a powder room and the other part will be an area for some cabinets/cubbies and a laundry room.

Clemson Game Fun!

We went to the Clemson game on Saturday. Bess was so excited about it! She could not wait to get to Greenville Friday night! Saturday she was up at the crack of dawn wanting to put her cheerleading uniform on. She sat with Big Daddy and YaYa for almost half of the game and did great! Baby Frank and I went in and sat with Frank, Ginger, and Cameron for about 15 minutes. Frank was having fun, but was very restless so the two of us went back to the car and tailgated for the rest of the game. Thank goodness we park in the shade! We had a fun-filled day and both kids went to sleep as soon as we got in the car to go home. Here are some pictures from our day at the game.

Frank's first haircut

Frank had his first haircut this morning at Stacy's Barber Shop. This smock stayed on Frank for about 5 seconds... The lollipop helped him sit still in the chair!

I had a hard time getting a good picture of the "after." Stacy did a great job...The curls are still there, but it is a little shorter on top and she took just a little bit off the curls. At least the hair is now out of his eyes. I'll try and get some better pictures tonight.

Labor Day Fun

Here are some pictures from Labor Day yesterday. We went to the McQueen's for dinner and all the children had a ball playing. Frank got so dirty, but he had so much fun!

This is why we call Frank "Swiper..." as in Swiper from Dora the Explorer. If you don't watch out, if there's food around, he'll swipe it!
