Tickets and Crayons

Tickets...

I got a ticket a few weeks ago for "disregarding a stop sign." I actually stopped a little but it was more of a rolling stop. The policeman was in sort of a hiding spot on my street...Can't believe I did not see him, but it was too late. I definitely deserved a ticket, but for $237.50?? That seemed a little steep! I went to court today and still had to pay $175. I guess the money we have saved from coupons was used to pay this fine!!


Crayons...
Another not so fun thing happened today. Little Frank colored on my den sofa with green crayon...a lot. It was on all 3 cushions. I looked on the internet about how to get the crayon out and it said to put a little hairspray on the spot with a Q tip. This was more than a spot, but I thought, what choice do I have? I was about to run to the store and get some hairspray, but then a friend whose mother is a pro at removing stains had another solution. She said to get some Tide powder and mix with a little shout, make a paste, put it on the spot, rinse w/ hot water, and then dry the cushion on low heat. So, I went to the store to buy some fancy detergent (Tide!), and came home and worked hard on getting my sofa clean. The first cushion did great! The crayon marks are gone completely. The second one is in the dryer now and I will do the third one tomorrow morning.

Big Frank is going to be so excited...Not because the crayon stains are gone, but because I got Tide at the store! He does not like scents at all, esp. in detergent. He has been complaining for weeks about the scent of our new detergent. I got some great detergent deals on Purex (linen and lilies). It makes Frank so sad. He said at work the other day the smell was giving him a headache so he had to spray some sort of air neutralizer in the room to make it bearable! He is going to be so excited to find out I am using Tide original scent for a few weeks!!
